Cocker Spaniel Puppies
This dog belongs to two breeds: the English Cocker Spaniel and the American Cocker Spaniel. The two breeds are called Cocker Spaniel or Cockers. The breed was initially bred as a hunting dog in the UK (Eurasian Woodcock). However, after the breed got to the US, it was bred for a completely different standard. This was done to enable it hunt the American Woodcock. The first mention of the Cocker Spaniel was by Gaston III of Fox-Beam in the 14th century. The breed is believed to have originated from Spain.

The two are bred as gun dogs. Their heightened sense of smell and intelligence is used to cover the hunter’s low ground when flushing birds to the air so that they can be shot. The English breed is taller and has a narrow head.
